Yikes, that seems a little scary and hard to do. First of all I don't want to get anything if it cost all I have and secondly this whole "supreme therefore" business is a little crazy. But, what is God's desire for my life if "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom." Proverbs 9:10
Well first, watch this video and see if wisdom starts here.
Ok, so I know that this is not what God intended for us to pursue when he said "get wisdom" but I think this is how we treat it. As believers in Christ we assume that we have to be wise and discerning all on our own and just like the owl who really has no clue how many licks it takes to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop, makes it up because he is supposed to be wise. His infamous words are "1, 2, 3, *CRUNCH*... 3 licks." He knows it doesn't take 3 licks or even 300 licks but because the supposed to be a wise ol' owl he makes it up.
For us, I believe that if when Jesus is asked what the greatest commandments of all were and he responded with "Love your Lord with all your heart, all your mind, all your soul and all your strength and then love your neighbor as yourself" and "the beginning of wisdom is a fear of the Lord" then the 1, 2, 3, crunch idea is not so good. It begins with a surrender to Christ and an allowance of Him to be the ultimate authority in our lives. It seems to be that no matter what area of our lives we look at God has created us to love Him and pursue him and allow Him to be the deciding factor in all that we do.
This week ask yourself:
1. Do I know Christ? Not do I know about Him or of Him, but am I in relationship with him?
2. Will I allow him to be the ultimate authority in my life? Will I surrender?
Love You All!!
